Automatic Brush Head Feeding, Inserting & Collecting Machine
Product Overview
The Automatic Brush Head Feeding, Inserting & Collecting Machine is an automatic auxiliary machine specially developed for Eyelash Brush Assembly Machines, Mascara Brush Assembly Machines, Cosmetic Brush Assembly Machines, and Makeup Brush Production Lines.
The machine automatically arranges loose brush heads into customized trays (plates) before the assembly process. Instead of relying on manual sorting, the machine accurately detects each brush head using photoelectric sensors, picks it up with a robotic gripper, and inserts it into a customized plate according to the required orientation and sequence.
The completed plate is then transferred directly to the Eyelash Brush Assembly Machine, allowing multiple brush heads to be assembled simultaneously with plastic handles.
This automatic process greatly improves production efficiency while reducing labor costs and ensuring stable product orientation.
Why Is a Brush Head Feeding Machine Necessary?
During production, brush heads are normally supplied in bulk. They are randomly mixed together and cannot be picked up directly by an automatic assembly machine.
The Brush Head Feeding Machine automatically organizes every brush head into a fixed position inside a customized plate.
Once the brush heads are arranged, the downstream assembly machine can pick up an entire row at one time.
For example:
- A 10-head Eyelash Brush Assembly Machine requires a plate with 10 brush heads per row.
- An 8-head Assembly Machine requires 8 brush heads per row.
- Other configurations such as 2, 4, or 5 brush heads per row are also available.
The plate layout is designed according to the customer’s assembly machine and production capacity.
Working Principle
The Brush Head Inserting Machine performs the following automatic process.
Step 1 – Automatic Brush Head Feeding
Loose brush heads are placed onto the conveyor.
The standard conveyor uses an 8-lane design, allowing multiple brush heads to be transported simultaneously.
The number of conveyor lanes can be customized according to customer requirements.
Step 2 – Photoelectric Position Detection
Unlike many vision systems, this machine does not require industrial cameras.
Instead, high-speed photoelectric sensors detect the position of every brush head.
The sensors continuously monitor the conveyor and transmit position information to the PLC.
The robotic system automatically determines the correct picking position according to the sensor signals.
Using photoelectric sensors offers several advantages:
- Lower equipment cost
- Faster response speed
- Easier maintenance
- Stable operation
- Simple adjustment
- No camera calibration
Step 3 – Automatic Brush Head Picking
After the sensor detects a brush head, the robotic gripper automatically picks it up.
The gripper is specially designed according to the customer’s brush dimensions to ensure stable handling without damaging the brush fibers.
The robot transfers each brush head to the plate-loading position.
Step 4 – Automatic Plate Insertion
The robot inserts every brush head into the customized plate.
Each brush head is positioned with identical spacing and orientation, allowing the following Mascara Brush Assembly Machine to pick up multiple brush heads accurately.
The machine automatically controls:
- Brush head direction
- Insertion position
- Product spacing
- Plate indexing
- Product counting
Step 5 – Finished Plate Collection
After the plate is filled, it moves to the output position.
The completed plate can be:
- Sent directly to the assembly machine
- Collected manually
- Connected to an automatic conveyor
- Stored for later production
8-Lane Conveyor Design
The standard machine is equipped with an 8-lane conveyor.
Multiple brush heads are transported simultaneously, significantly improving feeding efficiency.
The conveyor quantity can also be customized, including:
- 2 lanes
- 4 lanes
- 5 lanes
- 8 lanes
- 10 lanes
The final design depends on the customer’s assembly machine and required production capacity.
Customized Plate Design
Every production line uses a customized plate.
The plate can be designed according to:
- Brush head diameter
- Brush length
- Product spacing
- Number of brush heads per row
- Total plate capacity
For example:
- 10-position Assembly Machine → 10 brush heads per row
- 8-position Assembly Machine → 8 brush heads per row
- 5-position Assembly Machine → 5 brush heads per row
The plate material and dimensions can also be customized.
Compatible with Different Brush Sizes
One Brush Head Feeding Machine can process multiple brush head sizes.
Customers only need to replace the corresponding tooling or adjust the machine recipe.
